Chef Matthew Jost, CEC, CRC, CBJ, Culinary Business Development Manager, Away From Home, Kellogg’s
Chef Matthew (Matt) Jost is the Culinary Business Development Manager for Kellogg, in the Away From Home division. In this position, he works with the top 100 restaurant groups in the US, leveraging the Kellogg’s foodservice portfolio to present food concepts that encompass Kellogg’s core values of wellness and sustainability while delivering craveable flavor.
Chef Matt came to Kellogg after working as the Global Research Chef for one of the world’s largest producers of Stevia, PureCircle LLC. Chef Matt’s experience ranges from working as the Corporate Chef at Kraft/Heinz in the foodservice division to R&D chef for the restaurant division of the foremost grill maker in the world, Weber Grill. He founded the culinary innovation department and created the Weber Grill Academy, Weber’s first public all-grilling culinary school in the United States. He earned the title of “Certified Grill Master” from Weber Stephen Products LLC, one of only 5 in the world, logging over 1,400 hours, cooking, smoking and roasting on every grill that Weber Grill makes.

Susan seeks to build brands that bring joy, beauty, health and pleasure into people’s daily lives. She applies three basic principles to branding—empathy, altruism and integrity
Susan is a seasoned strategic branding designer who specializes in consumer, entertainment and luxury goods. Her work is often inspired by her early-career stint in the world of numismatics at the Smithsonian Museum. With over 20 years in the advertising and branding industry, Susan has held director and supervisory roles for the majority of her career. She is a strategically-based, concept-driven, hands-on Creative Director who has extensive experience with corporate, consumer and business-to-business brands. She has helped develop such brands as Grand Marnier, Godiva, Mars inc, Boots of London, Starbucks, Creative Artist Agency (CAA), Democratic National Committee, Michelle Obama and Ruffino.
Presently, she oversees PepsiCo’s Better For You portfolio of snacks including SunChips, Smartfood, Stacy’s Pita Chips and many more. Susan has redefined how new and heritage brands can connect deeply with their consumers in a more compelling way by creating proprietary methodologies around empathy, insights, purpose and design to drive deeper engagement.
Tom Newmaster, Partner, FORCEpkg
Over the past 30+ years Tom has proven himself where it counts – in the trenches. Tom has managed multiple titles, including head of new business development, account service representative, chief operations officer, art director, and designer. In 2017 he started FORCEpkg, a design and branding concept that combines real collaboration and real mobility. From 1998-2016 he was a principal and co-owner of WFM. During that time Tom worked with numerous challenger brands, helping them develop effective branding and packaging solutions. These companies include Dieffenbach’s Chips, eatKeenwa, Fresh Solutions Network, Klamath Basin Fresh Organics, Koch’s Turkey, Tom Sturgis Pretzels, and Wolfgang Candy. In addition, Tom’s award-winning package/brand design firm served national and global clients including The Hershey Company, Pfizer, Stoner Car Care, W.L. Gore, and Zippo.
He and his former company were also featured in Fast Company Magazine, Inc. Magazine, the noAH Directory of International Package Design Vol. 8 & 9, Market Smart Design, and Package Design China.
As the founder of FORCEpkg, he has become a leading voice in the packaging industry and has written for publications such as Brand Packaging, BXP, Flexo Magazine, Food Safety Strategies, Packaging Digest, Packaging Strategies, Brand United, Food Dive, and Prepared Foods. In addition, Tom serves as an adjunct instructor teaching packaging design at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design and his students are consistently recognized in National design competitions.
Tom has been honored with over 50 design awards, GDUSA Educator to Watch 2019-20, awarded Berks County Shining Star 2012, Project 2020 Finalist 2011 & 2010, Flexo Magazine Author’s Excellence Award 2006, and #16 in Fast Company Fast 50 2005.
Jordan Campbell, Co-Founder and Art Director of alt_
Jordan Campbell is a documentary photographer and educator whose practice is based in the advocacy of political and economic transformation within marginalized communities.
A teacher at Austin Career Academy in Chicago, Campbell uses his camera as a tool to give a voice to the people in need as well as a platform to archive and preserve history of people and spaces alike by working with organizations such as: Precious Blood Ministry Reconciliation, Elevated Garden, Rebuild Foundation, Hope World Wide, Pacific Garden Mission and Breathing Room Space.
Campbell was the 2018 Artist in Residence at Sweet Water Foundation and Teaching Artist for the ‘Chalet’ program with University of Chicago’s Smart Museum in collaboration with Chicago Housing Authority.

Jon Veal, Co-Founder and Creative Director of alt_
Rooted on the West side of Chicago, Jon Veal has forged a Transdisciplinary practice that utilizes installation, writing, painting, drawing, and performance.
Primarily focused on the capacity of symbolic gesture as a means of strategic tool; Veal uses his artistic agency as a platform for social engagement and discourse.
Veal has exhibited and performed at Chicago Artist Department, Silent Funny, William Hill Gallery, Homewood Science Center, Chicago Cultural Ball, and the Terrain Biennial.
Veal holds the honor of being the first African American Artist in Residence at Oak Park Public Library. In 2019 Jon also held the Field/Work Artist in Residence at Chicago Artist Coalition. This year he became a recipient of the 2020 3Arts “Make A Wave” Grant.
