Growing Careers and Companies
In addition to helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, The Hatchery helps place job applicants into the food & beverage industry and helps food companies find qualified employees.
How we accomplish this:
Free Classes for West Side Residents
The Hatchery co-hosts two tracks of free classes for West Side residents, in collaboration with the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC):
1
Job Seeker Track
2
Aspiring Entrepreneur Track
Topics include:
Interviewing
Food handling safety
ServSafe Food and alcohol safety training
Certification exams
Select core curriculum offerings are free for West Side residents. Please check our events page for upcoming classes, and look for the Community icon to designate free classes for West Side residents.
ICNC Workforce Development
ICNC Workforce Development helps place individuals into jobs with Hatchery kitchen businesses and also helps its small business community find staff, create job postings, screen applicants, and much more.
Impact Culinary Training
This elite culinary training program is designed for young adults 18- to 24-years-old in the Chicago area who are ready to take their first step into the food industry. The program begins with an intensive eight-week classroom-based course, where participants build a strong foundation in professional kitchen practices, followed by a four-week paid internship at a Chicagoland restaurant, giving them valuable hands-on experience in a real working environment.
