Filing paperwork, having proper licensing, and meeting deadlines can be a daunting task when it comes to selling at farmers and artisan  markets. This session will highlight best practices, application tips, and how to generate sales and brand followers. Applications open and close before you know it, so sign up today! 

 

About the Presenters:

Taylor Choy is the Operations Manager at Green City Market. Taylor is a first generation Asian-American who is passionate about supporting local food systems that prioritize equitable access to sustainable foods. Additionally, Taylor has several years of experience in food sustainability, waste reduction and community development through her work with Garden Collage, Center for Urban Research and Learning, School of Environmental Sustainability (formally IES), and the Chicago Foundation for Women. At Green City Market, she works directly with farmers and vendors at our markets and e-commerce programs. 

 

Angela Taylor is the Wellness Coordinator at Garfield Park Community Council. She manages the
32-member Garfield Park Garden Network and the Garfield Park Neighborhood Market and leads other wellness related projects. Each summer, Angela works with up to ten local youth through the Youth Garden Corps, a paid internship working in Garfield Park Gardens.

 

Lynna Smith is a CPA and MBA with over 30 years of professional experience as an accountant, business owner, business process consultant, executive recruiter, digital marketer and signature event producer. She is a principal co-founder and co-owner of INV Marketing Group LLC, which operates the Chicago Artisan Market in both Fulton Market and Ravenswood, as well as the Oak Brook Artisan Market and the Naperville Artisan Market in the western suburbs. The Chicago Artisan Market has worked with over 1,000 small businesses in food, fashion, home goods and art since inception, helping them reach and sell to new customers.

 

Jonathan Smith is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of professional experience as an asset manager, brand creator, business owner, digital marketer and signature event producer.
