Meredith Cella is The Hatchery’s Program & Events Manager.
Originally from Chicago, Meredith has over 10 years of food business experience in a broad spectrum of roles, from the back to the front of the house and beyond.
After graduating from culinary school in Pasadena, Meredith worked as a baker and pastry chef in Los Angeles and was featured in Vegetarian Times and Natural Health magazines. Meredith went on to manage Joan’s on Third, an iconic LA cafe and specialty gourmet marketplace.
Upon returning to Chicago, Meredith led the Intelligentsia & bakery departments at Plum Market as a buyer and manager. Before joining The Hatchery, Meredith bought and sold many Hatchery members’ fine products in her role as General Manager at Goddess and Grocer, a cafe/deli and upscale retail outfit in the Bucktown neighborhood, and became increasingly enamored with the startup food and beverage culture in Chicago.
She is passionate about food history and culture and loves empowering local culinarians, makers, and growers with tools to build their businesses.
