Moderator: 

Natalie Shmulik is The Hatchery’s Chief Strategy and Incubation Officer and go-to resource for launching a successful food and beverage business. With an M.L.A. in Gastronomy from Boston University, Natalie has years of innovative experience working with supermarkets, culinary publications, consumer packaged goods companies, and food service establishments. She continues to play a valuable role in branding and marketing for food businesses around the country, with her specialty in trend forecasting. 

Panel: 

Victoria Gustafson is a Senior Partner at Verde Associates, a boutique growth consultancy specializing in organizational evolution and growth acceleration. Victoria is a former operator, an executive coach, an educator, and an entrepreneurial organization development scholar-practitioner focusing on nurturing the growth of individual leaders, teams, and businesses for early-stage enterprises. Victoria holds a Ph.D. in Organization Development and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she also currently teaches. She is an active contributor to the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management, focused on bridging the gap between the latest research and practice in the field.

Michael Miro is the founder of Shorepath Consulting, a boutique firm that helps small businesses, nonprofits, associations, and academic/government institutions grow and thrive. He works across diverse industries, offering strategic guidance to enhance organizational effectiveness and sustainability. Specializing in strategic planning, retreat facilitation, and creative problem-solving, Michael helps clients clarify priorities, improve operations, and drive change. Known for his personable, collaborative approach, he fosters strong relationships and challenges assumptions to ensure accountability. Michael holds an M.A. from the University of Chicago, a certification in Nonprofit Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and is a certified FourSight facilitator. He serves as board president for two local nonprofits and is actively involved in his community through various leadership roles.

Alexa Ryan is the Founder & CEO of BAKR, a premium frozen ready to bake cookie dough brand made with real ingredients. Alexa is a supply chain expert with over 10 years of experience in leading end to end supply chain for billion dollar CPG brands at Procter & Gamble. She utilized her expertise to launch and scale BAKR to over 400 stores in less than one year of business. BAKR has grown to over 25,000 social media followers and has been featured in US Weekly, FoodNavigator, Fox News, Barstool, and more for their innovative cookies. 

Priscilla Torrence is the Chief Workforce Development Officer at ICNC | The Hatchery + Make City. With almost 30 years as a Workforce Development and Human Resources professional, Priscilla has extensive experience in supporting businesses and employees. She specializes in HR coaching, developing training programs, and managing workforce initiatives to help individuals and organizations succeed. With a dual Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Educational Management, Priscilla has a passion for employee development, leadership training, and job readiness.
